Jim Jordan is no stranger to the fast-paced world of politics, where things can change overnight.
However, over the years, the Republican has been able to count on the unwavering support of his wife, Polly Ann Jordan.
The two have been married since 1985, showing that their commitment to one another hasn't been impacted by the powerful walls of Washington, D.C.
Jim and Polly
Jim is currently mounting a bid for the coveted position of Speaker, and while he may not have the support of every Republican, he knows that he can always count on the support of his wife, Polly.
The two met in Champaign County, Ohio when they were both adolescents and were introduced by Polly's brothers.
Jim was 13 while Polly was 14, and while he pursued a career in politics, she opted to try her luck as an art teacher.
A public school teacher, it's unclear whether she has retired from the profession, though her name still appears on Graham Local School District paperwork.

The Jordan family
As for their family, Jim and Polly aren't alone. The couple have four children - Rachel, Ben, Jessie and Isaac.
The eldest, Rachel, married an Army officer and is currently stationed in Italy, where she has two daughters.
Ben keeps a low profile, while Jessie graduated from Graham High School and the University of Iowa before she tied the knot in 2016.
As for Isaac, he followed in the footsteps of Jim by becoming an All-American wrestler at the University of Wisconsin. He is currently an assistant wrestling coach at Indiana University.
Although Jim is usually hard at work in Washington D.C., the couple remain rooted to their life in Urbana, Ohio.
That's where they bought their two-story mansion back in 1997, and have resided ever since.
